Question ID: 491486
What is the step by step procedure for migrating my outlook mail
account from old pc to a new computer.

Both computers are currently networked together.

My ISP is comcast.net

Both systems are running up to date fully patched Windows XP Professional.

Both systems have Microsoft Office XP Professional installed although
the new machine does not have a configured email account.

The new machine is fully functional on the internet connection otherwise.

Hi!!

Try this:
"How do I setup Outlook 2002 for E-mail?":
http://www.comcast.net/help/faq/index.jsp?faq=EmailOutlook17685

To move your mails see:
"OUTLOOK? BACKUP TUTORIAL":
http://www.sitedeveloper.ws/tutorials/outlook.htm#programs

or
"OutBack5":
http://www.ajsystems.com/obp5.html

Let me know if this works in order to put this in the answers box. If
not ,et me know also in order to continue the research and/or give you
further assistance.

Regards.

I'm not a researcher, but I should be. :)

Provided your not on an exchange server, and you probably are NOT,
just find any *.PST files. Outlook must be closed for you to copy/move
them.

From the menu on the 2nd PC, File-->Open and choose Personal Folder file...

No brainer. :)

The PST file(s) store all your mail. You may have outlook.pst,
archive.pst and if you created them--some others, too.

Good luck!

By the way...when you use a PC-side email client, you don't have to
worry about who your ISP is. That's only for people that use AOL and
stuff. That's why it's good NOT to use such ISPs.
