I am having problems with hyperlinks. Hyperlinks from Outlook (that
appear in an email) and other programs (such as DesktopX) do not work
unless a browser is already open. In Outlook, the error pops up with
an InstalShield box saying some programing gibberish. I know there
must be an easy fix for this, but I just can't figure it out. Thanks.

Outlook:

The following is all in an InstallShield box

Command line paramenters:
/L language ID
/S Hide intialization dialog. For silent mode use: /S
/v/qn.
/V parameters to MsiExec.exe
/UA<url to InstMsiA.exe>
/UW<url to InstMsiW.exe>
/UM<url to msi package>

Then it has an OK button.

Well from what it looks like is that something happened to the windows
installer. Have you updated or added some new software latley. Also a
good idea to check for viruses. Anyway you should be able to uninstall
it and reinstall it. If you are worried about losing any important
letters or any important contacts you could always back up your
outlook data.

I definetely try a reinstall, that should work for Outlook. But what
about the other program(s)? Is there anything I can do with
InstallShield?
