I am a 35 year old female. Since puberty I have suffered terribly
from depression in the past around my period time and for a few years
very bad acne. I do not have excessive facial hair, or polycystic
ovaries, I am and have always been slim (if anything I find it hard to
put on weight) and I have always had very regular periods. But a
hormone specialist where I live in the Uk has pigeon holed me as
having PCOS. I am not convinced, because the only symptom i have
which fits with this is having the low SBGH hormone. I also suffer
with hyperhidrosis and have done since i was little. I have now taken
prozac for 10 years which has helped with my PMS symptoms and my IBS
symptoms and they have now put me on the depo injection of provera to
see if this will cure my monthly episodes to enable me to come off
prozac. To give you a bit of family background (if this helps) there
is celiac disease in both my older brother and sister, my mother
suffers from high blood pressure and also suffered from depression
after she had hysterectomy, my Dad's Mum had Alzheimers died at 85, my
Dad's Dad had two strokes but died of heart disease at 91, there is
angina on my mum's side and my sister is currently having tests of her
liver. Dad as far as i know is fit, he recently had a full medical,
but he gets the odd headache and dizzy spell in his old age (he is now
72). Please can you advise me whether there is anything else I may
have that includes the low sex binding globulin and the excessive
sweating oh and also I suffer terribly with night sweats |
