Question ID: 492103
How would I find someone willing to load a Unimog 406 forest tractor
(weighing about 9000 lbs) valued at $5000 onto a 42 inch high
semi-trailer for shipping from Cordova, Illinois 61242-9603, a city
2000 miles away from my location near Sacramento, California? Pickup
time to be coordinated with the shipping broker.

The Unimog is not licensed as a motor vehicle because it does not need
one as an agricultural vehicle in Illinois. It may be driven at a
speed of 50mph on public roads in Illinois.

The simple way is to find a loading dock and drive it on. What kind of
facilities have loading docks that they are willing to provide for
free or for a fee?

What other options are available to load equipment? I am open to any
solution that does not cost more than $300. If I contract with an
individual, club or company, what reasonable steps can I take to
protect my interest? It is moderately important that I get this done
quickly since it is annoying the previous owners neighbors.

But it surely shouldn't be difficult to find a loading ramp somewhere
her give a tip to the driver of car tranporter to lend you his metal
tracks, whatever, for $ 300$ , no, a lot less, the guy picking up the
unimog should quickly find a way.

After looking at various business types with Mapquest, a boat yard
referred me to a metal plating shop who graciously will permit me to
load the Unimog. Only restriction is that I load it after working
hours. Problem solved.
