Hi;
I direct a non-profit organization that specializes in, among other
things, taking young (high school age) American athletes throughout
the world to play in athletic competition and engage in cultural
activities. Often, these "Athletic Diplomacy" type trips achieve a
high degree of favorable media attention, and we have been recognized
several times over the past 10-15 years by the White House for our
excellent work with young people and for our international programs.
Currently, we are very eager to make contact with entities in China,
South Korea, and Japan that would be willing to extend invitations to
us for two particular programs, for travel in 2006. One such program
is ice hockey; we wish to take 3-4 teams of top-level American
student-athletes of high school age to Asia. The second is soccer,
also 3-4 high school age group teams. While it is very easy to find
tournaments and other sports and cultural contacts throughout Europe,
for example (and in fact we have taken many teams there and elsewhere
across the globe.....) we are having particular trouble finding
organizations in the aforementioned Asian countries to touch base with
in an effort to develop these programs. Presently, we are looking for
as many of the following as we can find: governing bodies, such as
sports federations, schools, local or national government entities, or
cultural exchange organizations that we can contact, preferably by
email. Countries, as mentioned above: Japan, China (including Hong
Kong), and South Korea. We of course know that these organizations
exist; we are just having much trouble finding ones that we can
contact that are appropriate for such projects. The more we have, the
better, in an effort to put these trips together with willing partners
in Asia. We aren't looking for organizations or entities that will
pay for these particular trips.....we cover the costs. But we need
invitations from willing entities that can arrange the sports and
cultural programs. Thank you very much. |
