Our apartment building needs painting this spring. It should have
been painted last year, but we had one contractor back out on us and
another started the job, but we unhappy about continuing with them.
1. The contractor who backed out was a relative of one of the owners,
and I don't know what his company name was.
2. The other contractor we tried was a contractor named "Umbrella
Construction." They showed up two months late and tried to paint the
building in freezing wet weather - until we insisted that they stop.
3. The building is on a slope, so the painter cannot paint with
ladders alone - a special lift machine is necessary to get access to
the entire building exterior. (or they could repel off of the roof! I
don't mind, if their insurance covers it.)
4. The building is about 10,000 square feet inside, on four levels
including the garage level, and has balconies on two sides of the
structure.
5. I don't need a quote, I just would like to know 5 painting
contractors who are considered reliable, who have positive references,
are considered economical and who would take on a job this size with
the condition listed in item 3. |
