HI,
I think that you are going to have to specify more clearly what kind
of golfers you mean: Pros, amateurs trying to escape home on the
weekend, social climbers, clubhouse bar supporters (They sink
holes-in-one at the "nineteenth hole"), ...?
Maybe this is not true anywhere in the States, Australia, or the UK,
but in many other areas, golf is an expensive sport and attracts
people for that reason, that they can afford it and playing lets
others know that they can. Maybe this occurs in the US - letting
people know that you play a Pebble Beach or a more local exclusive
club.
Considering this range of reasons for choosing to play golf, I doubt
there would be personality characteristics that one could say were
typical of all golfers. |
