I have been using DragStrip to access my apps, folders, etc. but now
am converting to using desktop shortcut keys (only, without DragStrip), via
the icons in the Start Menu. Oddities: shortcut keys sometimes work only
in the "first cascade" of the Start Menu, but not in 2nd, 3rd, etc.
(But some of mine such as L = laser printer queue works fine in 3rd
cascade!) Also,
sometimes a shortcut key in an icon just above the Start button (first
cascade) stops working, but if I remove it (seeing the word "None) and
reinstall it, it works again. I do not understand the conditions under
which these keys codes are obeyed or ignored by Windows. Can anyone
direct me to a source of information on this? I can't learn what I need
on MS Support websites. Thanks!
