I now have an LG vx6100 I know this phone support realtones, as I got one for the phone and it seems to be working just fine I can actualy hear the guys sing "God of Wonders" anywase I'm annoyed at the fact the 30 second ringtone cost about $4 when the 4 min song itself sells for $0.89 now I got tools to reformat sound to what ever format I need. is there some way I could make my own ring tone and use that insted? |

You know I am going to make you so happy today. You will be so happy as a matter of fact that you will never forget me. Ok what you need to do is put your music on your computer from your favorite cds. Becuse these will now be your ring tones. Ok you have to edit the song to 30 seconds. That is not a big deal just grab the best part. Ok now the big trick to this is alls you have to do from here is after you have your new 30 second ringtone saved to your computer is go ahead and change the file extention to .mid. So you have Eminem just lose it go ahead and right on it go to rename and add the .mid. Now use your e-mail client. I have outlook and attach the file to a message and send it to your vzwpix.com e-mail address. That is the one that you use when you send pictures. You will have to pay a small fee for recieving the picture thou. Ok now this only works on the cammera phones. My friend got a new lg6100 and she wanted some ringtones. And this worked great for her. You can also purchase a data cable and up them to your phone from your computer but this is easy. If you have any questions just ask. |

Btw you don't have alot of memoery on that phone I believe it is 2.9 mb. And as the songs are about 1000kb at about a 30 second clip you want have alot of room. Your best bet would be just to put a handfull of tones on your phone. |

OK, so I create my small mp3 (I assume you meant mp3 for ringtone here), rename it to a .mid (I got it down to around 85K). I then send it to my vzwpix.com email. The phone receives it fine, but then what do I do to get it into the phone as a ringtone? If you go to view the message on the phone, it tells you it is invalid. (Failed to play PIX msg). Thoughts? |

well it worked fine for me. what I did was make it mono 16bit 22khz 96bit this made the 30 second clip arround 300k I e-mailed it to my vzwpix.com account directly and the phone played it. |
