Question ID: 493428
I am looking for a odeur-free waste basket designed for a person with
very limited hand/arm strength.

Backgrund for this is; I am a paralyzed person since 5 years, and I
have a colostomy. I can manage my colostomy ok; but I have truble
taking care of the
(smelly) waste. Leaving this in an ordinary waste basket is not fun.

The product I need help finding must be easy to operate with none, or
very little hand/arm function. If it requires a 'normal' person to
empty it is ok.

I believe I know exactly the right product for you. Here's a brief description:

"Touchless TrashcanTM is a patented new product widely recognized in
Europe. And it has just been introduced to North America. Sold
thousands on infomercial, QVC and HSN home shopping channels. It won
the 2002 Invention Show - New Household Product Award.

It is a 100% hands-free operated, wireless, lidded waste disposal
system. The built-in Artificial Intelligent (AI) Smart-Chip knows when
you need to open trash can, and do all the openings and closings for
you without touching or step-on anything...

The Touchless Trashcan uses patented invisible harmless infrared
technology. Place hand or debris about 6 inches away from the infrared
sensor near the lid. It will open instantly when you approach and will
close automatically in 3-second after debris has been released and
hand moves away. Lid will remain open if debris or hand is within 6
inches range of the infrared sensor. There are 2 buttons on the front
to open and close the lid manually and an on/off switch on the back of
the trashcan...

It creates a germ free, odor free, automated environment. It keeps
your hands clean when cooking or touching your kid. Helps prevent
contamination! It opens for you automatically when your hands or feet
are occupied."

The Touchless Trashcan is available in a variety of sizes and styles.
I highly recommend this product for anyone who has reduced hand
strength or limited mobility. Two of my friends (one who has severe
arthritis, and one who has MS) have told me that they don't know how
they ever did without their Touchless Trashcans. A third friend uses
her Touchless Trashcan as a diaper pail.

I do not really understand how this product gets odeur-free, since it
does not wrap the garbage.. Could you clarify on this please

I have not been able to find a Swedish dealer, but the manufacturer of
the Touchless Trashcan, iTouchless, offers international shipping, so
you should be able to get the product delivered to Sweden:

iTouchless: Shipping Information

There is a vendor in the UK, but their website indicates that they do
not deliver outside the UK:

Gadget Wizard

The Touchless Trashcan is odor-free because it has a gasket which
keeps it sealed snugly when it is closed. My friend who uses her
Touchless Trashcan as a diaper pail says that even when several used
diapers are left in the trashcan overnight, there's no odor in the
area. Because the liner is lifted out and thrown away, the can itself
never comes in contact with odor-causing substances.
