Part 1: Please find at least 2 alternatives to Clean Slate software http://www.fortres.com/products/cleanslate.htm It must be non-restrictive (i.e. able to install anything) and should scour drives back to their original state upon reboot or log off. Also please find at least 2 product reviews for each software including for Clean Slate. Part 2: What are the disadvantages of using such software (besides using up system resources)? FYI I make an image of my vanilla system with XP and essential software and updates. About every 6 month I would reformat and restore the pristine image. I wonder if the Clean Slate (or similar) software is a superior solution. | |

Check out Symantec's GoBack software - main: http://www.goback.com/ - review: http://reviews.cnet.com/Norton_GoBack_4_0/4505-3682_7-31109354.html Your current method of restoring is adequate IMO. |
