Hello, As far as I know, both the "real" Abdul Alhazred and the "real" Necronomicon never existed. They were both created by writer Howard Phillips Lovecraft in the early 1900's for his cycle of fantastic novels collectivelly known now as "the Cthulhu Mythos". Because of the success of these stories, false "necronomicons" tomes were published later, to mimic the book described by H.P. Lovecraft in his sotries, but they surely don't originate from an "insane arab" of old times... |

Ah, I've read into a little more, and realized it is a complete fake :). A fictional invention by Lovecraft. Unfortunately, I had originally stumbled upon an "anti-faq" and didn't take the time to read the "anti." Thank you for the responses. |
