On an average trading day, what percent of total outstanding stock value is traded?
Background: Standand reporting of trading volume reports numbers of
shares traded. This usually misleads because it omits:
1. the context of what a small percentage of total outstanding shares
are involved, and
2. Shares of different companies have vastly different values.

A better measure of trading volume would measure total percentage of
outstanding stock value traded. I suspect most people will be
surprised how small it is even on the most active days.
