I'm running Windows XP and using itunes. My music sounds great on my
ipod and also sounds great when I play it on my PC using MusicMatch.
However, their is significant distortion when I play music on itunes.
All my music sounds very poor. I reloaded itunes already.

Itunes has a built in equalizer- have have you tried to adjust the
setting when playing back on your PC?  This may solve your problem.

if that doesnt work try to use windows media player that should work better
