If we have 45 million people in the USA with no healthcare coverage
(1/3 being children) how many people does the USA have that have an
undiagnosed cancer (adults and children alike)

Hello again, danielaqh:

Thanks for the interesting question. However, I will need some
clarification on the intent of your question before proceeding.

While there are surely many, many people without health care coverage
who have an undiagnosed cancer, there are also definitely people
*with* coverage that have an undiagnosed cancer. Are you trying to
find out the *total* number of people in the USA with an undiagnosed
cancer? Or are you trying to find out how many people strictly without
coverage have an undiagnosed cancer?

As well, do you definitely need those figures to be broken down by
adults and children?

Please also bear in mind that since we are looking for *undiagnosed*
cancers any figures we get are at best going to be statistical
predictions.

Thanks.

Thanks. In reverse, I understand the answer will be a statistical projection.
I would like projection of undiagnosed cancers in adults and children
for the uninsured only. Fine by me to break down adults/children.

Hello danielaqh:

I've done some deep searching for you, but I have been unable to find
the figures you want. There does not seem to be a breakdown available
for undiagnosed cancer among the uninsured.

We might be able to find the percentage of the general population with
undiagnosed cancer and then multiply by the 45 million, but that would
not be statistically valid, since the demographics and lifestyles (and
therefore the probability of cancer) would definitely be different for
the insured versus the uninsured.

I'll open this question up to other researchers - maybe they can find
what I could not.
