On some pages in Internet Explorer, the font shows up super narrow (to
the point of being unreadable) (www.wikipedia.org is one example.) I'm
not sure why this is or how to fix it, can anyone help? (it looks like
Arial Narrow, but I'm not good at distinguishing fonts

Are you in a Windows or another environment?

Also, if you go to Tools, Internet Options, and then Fonts, what do you
have listed under "Web page font" and "Plain text font"?  Thanks!

When I go to Tools > Internet options > Fonts the plain text font is
Courier New and the web page font is Arial

another is www.mininova.org

probably your IE settings are wrong in the tool menu or in the registry of windows.

Its also posibly that you dont have the font installed properly.

It's not the size that concerns me, it's the narrowness, even on the
largest size it's hard to read because it doesn't use "real" Arial

Hi Fierax!

I have the same error since I install de Windows Media Player 10, when
I uninstall it and run the regcleaner it was sucessfully repaired.
