I am looking for a case study on a company implementing a management competeny model to assess their manager?s performances along these competencies and link it to their pay, bonus or promotion. Probably the method for assessing the managers against the competencies will be through a feedback process as seen in 360° feedbacks. It differs from a 360° feedback significantly since the focus of a traditional 360° feedback is on DEVELOPMENT (where does a manager need to improve? How can we get him there?) without consequences for the PERFORMANCE. I am looking for a PERFORMANCE appraisal and consequences attached to it. This will probably be used as a tool in organizational development and to introduce a cultural change in management within a company. A tool that is known for working in that direction is PDI?s TalentView (http://www.personneldecisions.com/offerings/talentview.asp). An outline of a similar approach can be found on the introduction of a competency model at Boston Globe (http://www.inmomentum.com/clients/studies.cfm) (but this doesn?t seem to be linked to performance and consequences). The case study should include a description of the state of the company before the introduction of such a tool, the reason for putting it in place, the problems encountered, the strategy that was used and the results of these steps in terms of cultural change, effects on management in the company and business benefits. |
