Think tanks, writing their autobiographies, giving speeches to political and business groups that pay them enough, being recurring guests on TV news shows (Genl. Clark for a while concerning Iraq), getting hired by companies that want their insider political expertise and connections in DC and elsewhere, celebrity golf competitions, ... You name it ... In some countries, they just spend the loot made as high-ranking officials, or go into hiding ... |

Just saw your clarification, would have seen it sooner as a comment. Have you tried making a list of ex-high rankers? Searching for past cabinets, directors of govt offices, whatever fits your description. Then it should be easy to find what they subsequently did and where. |
