Cost Comparison: from Montreal CANADA to Carlsbad, California

- Apt. rental (1 to 2 bedrooms, actually, I currently have a 2 bedrooms (second
one used as an office) and 1 bathroom (I notice 2 bedrooms apartments
in Carlsbad are in fact 2 master bedrooms) (how do the laws governing
renting an apartment in the province of Quebec differ from the one in
California)
- vehicle registration/buying, cost/efficiency of public transportation
- taxes: sales and income
- average cost per gallon of gasoline, power costs (electric and gas),
groceries, phone, cellular, etc.
- if I have a salary around 60k CDN, how much should I earn in California (US$)?
