I am going to be in Palo Alto, CA from March 21st to March 26th or
27th. I want a list of places to go or events to register for/attend
within Palo Alto or nearby cities (within 3-4 hours driving distance)
where I can:
1. Network with top executives, preferable from Fortune 1000
companies. Even better if execs are from big companies that make
consumer products or products targeted at 18 to 24 year olds. Finding
conferences or events where product development directors/managers/VPs
show up would be great. Second best kind would be marketing innovation
directors/VPs.
2. Meet interesting people who can help me develop sales and
operations on the west coast.
My company provides custom brainstorms done by creative college
students to inspire new concepts within companies. If you need more
specifics, please ask.
I am going to Palo Alto, CA mainly because it is the home of Stanford
University and of IDEO, the leading innovation consulting firm (which
is my industry).

Getting a list of places/events/tentative-schedule would be great!

For example, a place that I am considering going to is the Xerox PARC Forum
http://www.parc.xerox.com/events/default.php

Here's a networking event I found (But this is a bad one because it
looks like no Fortune 1000 people go there)
http://www.eastbaytechhub.com/

I've even considered going to job fairs held in colleges in that area
to meet people from Fortune 1000s, but I will probably not see any
important people there. It may be a backup plan, though.

Hello anandvc-ga,

There is a wide selection of meetings, conferences, seminars and other
business get-togethers available to you in the San Francisco Bay Area
during the week of your visit. I?ve collected some that might be of
interest to you and organized them by the days of the week. In
addition, I?ve also included a selection of event calendars for you to
explore on your own. I think you could have a very busy week.

All the best.

Stem cell research holds the promise of breakthroughs in the treatment
of diabetes and Parkinson's disease, among other ailments. It is the
new frontier of medicine. But what will it mean to Silicon Valley? It
could be months or more before the California Institute for
Regenerative Medicine issues the first of $3 billion in grants for
stem-cell research, but already there are signs of a coming
"California stem cell gold rush".
The impact on the local economy will prove measurable. New exploration
means new joint ventures and start-ups, all of which need employees,
space, equipment and business services. And that new spending can
further fuel a recovering economy.
The Business Journal will lead a discussion of industry leaders and
business leaders as we examine the impact of the new frontier of
medicine on business and our economy in Silicon Valley.
Keynote Speaker & Panelist: J. William Langston MD Founder, CEO &
Chief Scientific Officer, The Parkinson's Institute
Panelist: Matthew M. Gardner President, BayBio
Panelist: Michael Goldberg General Partner, Mohr, Davidow Ventures and
Board member at California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
