Hi, I have a Pentium 4 1.8Ghz with XP proffesional installed (SP2 upgrade over a previous SP1). I added 768MB of RAM (2 chips of 256MB+512MB) @ 400MHz to an existing 256MB @ 266MHz. all chips are DDR. When I start the computer, the Memory count of the Bios shows 1GB. When Windows runs (No Error are or were reported) the "My Computer" properties show only 256MB of RAM. What is the problem and how can I fix it? Thanks, Shlomi. |

I am a little confused about your configuration. Most boards require the same size and speed dimms to be installed on each port of the banks. Do you have 4 ports ( 2 banks) ? If so you probably need the same size on corresponding ports for each bank. |
