I have 2 Bullit FTP servers running under Windows XP Professional. There are just under 200 client folders in each server. The servers are in two different locations in the same town, roughly 3KM apart and there is a hertzien link between the two sites. Each location has a site manager responsible for the incoming FTP files and their distribution throughout the company. I am looking for a solution whereby a hand held device will *ring* / *vibrate* or somehow *signal* the site manager that client X has transfered/is transfering his files into client X's traffic folder. I appreciate that the easiest solution is to ask Client X to confirm their transfer is underway/has completed, but that is proving too difficult. Anyone any ideas? Blackberry devices perhaps? If so, would that require any changes in the existing structure? Appreciate any swift replies. Boxclever. |

Maybe a product like this [ http://www.youvegotfiles.com/ ] Feature Summary At user-defined intervals, You've Got Files!? examines selected directories and FTP-accessible folders for new or changed files, and sends an email notification with information on the new or modified files to a list of email addresses. |
