I would like to find out as much possible on this company that i found
an old stock certificate for. It is called "Strauss & Co".
Apparently the president was Ben Strauss. Specifically, I would like
to know when the company went out of business and how. If you need
more clarification or details, please let me know.

Thanks!

Is there any indication of an address? What state did the company operate in?

Without this, it would be very hard to pinpoint the company's history.
Also, a date would be helpful.

It was incorporated in New York. The certificate was dated on December 15th, 1920.

Thanks again!

Yow!

I looked, but Strauss is such a common name that it's hard to know for
sure which company is which, although I did not find a NY company with
the exact name "Strauss & Co".

At this point I don't quite know how to proceed without more detailed
information about the company -- an address, for instance. But if
inspiration strikes, I'll be sure to let you know.
