I'm considering buying a beachside rental property in Mexico, for
which I'll be paying cash. I'm a U.S. citizen, residing in California.
Our hope is to rent the Mexican property the vast majority of the
year; and, to eventually sell it for a capital gain. (As is
necessary for non-U.S. citizens, we'll hold title to the land in a
Mexican bank trust, or "fidecomiso".)
I need laymen's resources for info on the taxation issues
involved in purchasing, renting and eventually selling the home and
property.
