jackburton gave one part of the solution of setting the default printer. But the other part about saving the draft settings can be done from selecting properties from the printer list from the same window given by jackburton ("Printers and Faxes" from the start menu). |

XP, XP SP1, or XP SP2? and, have you disabled any fax or other services? |
