what is the program "amenmeal.exe"; is it part of the operating system
or is it spyware that should be removed (also how can it be removed)?

For sure it is not part of the Windows operative system. But we need
additional info about your system to assist you in the removal
procedure of this possible pestware.
Please do the following:
Download and run the following tools:
Adaware:
This program will help you to remove from your computer the spyware
and other types of pestwares, to download it:

Then install and run it, probably this program remove the amenmeal.exe
file if it is detected as a pestware; for a guide of how to do that

for remove it if you cannot remove it press Alt+Ctrl+Delete then go to
processes Tab and select process of amenmeal.exe and click on End
process then remove amenmeal.exe

That's right mani682001, but remember that this only removes an
executable file, the pest an dits traces remains in the computer,
normally some other files and registry entries must be deleted, this
is why I have asked for additional info that HijackThis can provide.

It is most likely spyware - Run a scan from
http://freespyware.1st-in-bargins.com and it should confirm this for
you. Hope this helps
