The week that Jesus was crucified was the week of the Jewish Passover which is one of the High Holy Days. I believe there is a day of Preparation preceeding the actual Passover day. What day of that week was the Passover Day? |

So now we've got Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday as prime suspects. Any other suggestions? (Clue: There are THREE other possible days to choose from.) |

The days are quite hard to make out. I did however hear a very compelling arguement from a speaker telling how Jesus was likely crusified on Thursday as opposed to the very popular belief of Friday. I had often wondered about the 3 days between his death and ressurection since Friday night to Sunday morning just didn't quite cut it in my mind. And this arguement brought not only obvious things like that into play, but also ceremonies and traditions that are touched on in the bible that suggest Thursday was the more likely day. |
