I would like to e-mail someone who is involved in the making of a movie based on the book FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS. My husband may well be the LAST survivor of both flag raisings on Mt. Suribachi, Iwo Jima, Japan. He was misidentified in the "Gung Ho" photo printed in the book. Since then he has been positively identified as the corpsman in the shadow of the group picture taken by Joe Rosenthal. Random House has agreed not to identify any other than the six men who were also in the candid photo of the second flag raising. We have proof including a citation signed by Holland Smith. Some people who would be interested in this information may include Clint Eastwood and Richard Dreyfus. How can I get this information to them? |

Re: A Book

If your husband thinks there ia a book in him, a story to tell, contacting literary agents who represent non-fiction history writers is the way to go. There may be someone out there who is interested in writing your husband's story. Buy the writer's market guide to agents and pick 15 or 20 who represent authors of books of this type. Some talented writer is surely looking for his next project and contacting his agent may be a good way to find him. Send short query letters to the most promising agencies.
