Hi,
I came to America with the J1 visa as an aupair.My situation with the
host family didn't work out so rather than going back to my country I
went to live with my boy friend (an american citizen) whom i met
before i came to America. I've been living with him 3 months and we
are thinking about getting married. So, we have a couple questions.
1. Is my visa still valid?? (It hasn't passed the expiration date). 
2. Will I be viewed as a legal alien or illegal alien thought out the process?
3. What are the steps that we should take to get the process started? 
4. Am I eligible to get a social security card now?
5. Any general advice suggetions for us?
