Hi,

There is a website called www.samaritans.org which offers free
web-based and phone-based emotional support by trained professionals,
and non-professionals alike.  This service is based in Europe.  I want
to find out if there are any websites, or non-profit companies that
are very similar here in the USA.  By "very similar" I mean not only
the services provided, but the number of patrons.  Samaritans has
contact with a very large number of people, I think totalling over a
million people per year, if not, the hundred thousands.  I'm
interested in knowing what kind of equivalent offerings this country
has in that regard.
