guys,

Here in the netherlands i want to start an internetsite for people to
offer and ask for certain goods. I want to make it as easy as possible
for people to place posts on the site. However, in order to give
people the option the adjust or remove their post you always need to
ask for somebody's email adress (or have them login etc) which makes
it more a hassle for people to post.

Can anyone think of an alternative way to enable people to adjust and
remove their posts without asking their email adresses and still
provide them with the easiest and quickest way to place posts? There
is probably no answer to this but I figured I ask it anyway!

Thanks

I have never found 'logging in' or giving an email address
(registering) to be difficult. I think it would be nearly impossible
to run a site that allows people to give or receive goods/services
without having contact information posted at some point. How do you
think people will contact each other? Why do you think it "makes it
more a hassle for people to post." ??

I'm assuming the posters have to have a handle/user name so you can
tell them apart!

aside from that you could set it up (but it may need cgi) so that if
they have the same combination of user name and ip number (as the
original poster) they could edit posts ... but few people have static
ip numbers, you could have only the first three octects the same, but
it would be too easy to edit each others posts
