Hey jjc71538, If you take a look at the site below, the author claims that the Knoppix 3.8 ISO which is there is set up for US English by deafault: http://home.btconnect.com/chrisandcarolyn/torrents/ However, he also claims that he has modified the file to make it "also run under Windows". The torrent seems to be performing well, with a good number of seeds and several hundred peers. Good luck! NB: I found the link at the following Google cache: http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:gqeRWTVBnCwJ:www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php%3Ft%3D17398%26postdays%3D0%26postorder%3Dasc%26start%3D40++site:www.knoppix.net+English+Knoppix+3.8+ISO+&hl=en |

Opera 8 with Knoppix I reecently installed the latest Knoppix ISO and I can not install Opera - up to now, for all previous versions, I had downloaded the static RPM Opera file and double-clicked it and the install was done right away. On the latest vesion of Knoppix, trying to install Opera 8 static rpm file, I get the message set: rpm: to install rpm pavckages on Debian sysyetms, use alien. error: cannot open Packages using db3 - no such file or directory error: cannot open Packages database in /var/lib/rpm Help (please don't throw answer with the assumption that I am highly conveservent in Linux commands and processes). Thanks. |
