Each company has a list of preferred vendors who in turn recruit
contractors and employees for the company. I want to know where i can
find the list of preferred vendors for Fortune 1000 companies in USA,
especially companies who recruit a lot IT professionals. Because i
work as a HeadHunter for a IT consulting firm based in Charlotte, NC.
We hire prospective IT consultants in various expertise and supply
them to clients a project-to-project basis. So our consultants work at
client's locations for the duration of the project. They search for a
new project as soon as the previous one is over. I will provide
additional info if needed.

Hi there,

I tried constructing some well-targeted searches to provide results
for companies that self-identify as preferred vendors for Fortune 1000
clients. Although a few companies turned up in the search, the
results weren't all that clean.

An alternative you may want to consider is to make use of the many
lists that appear regularly -- things like the Top X-hundred Software
Firms, or The Fastest-Growing IT Companies, and other lists of that
ilk.

For instance, I searched one such list for some of the top CRM service
providers, and came up with a set of 23 companies, including:

Siebel Systems
www.siebel.com

Acxiom Corporation
www.acxiom.com

Harte-Hanks, Inc
www.harte-hanks.com

Aspect Communications Corp.
www.aspect.com

Concerto Software
www.concerto.com

Group 1 Software
www.g1.com

Witness Systems
www.witness.com

KANA
www.kana.com

Onyx Software Corporation
www.onyx.com

and about a dozen others.

It seems to me that the reason firms like these are making the "Top"
lists is that they already are -- or or on their way to becoming --
the type of preferred providers of IT services to the big boys that
you're looking for.

Let me know if you would like more information about these lists as an
answer to your question, in lieu of the actual lists of "Preferred
Vendors" from Fortune 500 firms (which are likely kept private,
anyway).

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Hi, Thanx for taking up my question.

Is there no way i can actually get
the list of preferred vendors who recruit personnel for Fortune 1000
companies (or Fortune 500 companies)? Is it true that its a secret
that is kept away from the public domain? I just want to know.
