Hi there. I own a FTA satallite receiver model is Fortec Star Lifetime
Ultra. I have lost the password for this receiver and would like to
know how I can reset it. I cannot access the menu as it requires the
same password as well. Also it has been changed from the default
password of "0000" to something else. Thanks very much.

Howdy jperras-ga,

If you look on the back of the receiver, is there a small (1/8 inch or so)
hole there? It might be marked reset as well. If there is a hole there,
use a flashlight and see if there is a reset switch in there. It might
look like a small button. You will need an unfolded paperclip to push this
switch, and the receiver will have to be turned on, if your model has this
reset switch. Resetting the receiver this way will most likely reset all
of the settings, such as channels programmed, etc.

If your model has such a reset port and this works, please post back here
and I will post this as an answer. Thanks!

Hi denco-ga,

I searched high and low on the receiver and had no such luck. I also
searched through the manual in case I missed anything, and although it
talks about setting the password, there is no such information on
resetting it :(
