I purchased a Seiko desk/mantle clock in about 1995. It looks alot like the famous perpetual "Atmos Clock" made by LeCoultre. I heard that LeCoultre sued Seiko and forced Seiko to cease production of the "Atmos-look-alaike" Seiko mantle/desk clock. I have one of the Seiko desk/mantle clocks and the markings are as follows: Ref. QAW105G Cal. 12402 Japan I have 2 questions: 1. Any truth to the rumored history of the clock, law suit with LeCoultre, etc., or any other history on it? 2. Can you refer me to anyone else who may have one or more for sale (have not seen any on ebay) Thanks, Dr. Crutchfield |

I wasn't able to find any info about a Seiko clock that resembles an Atmos, but I thought you might find this clock interesting: "United Statue Atmos Style Clock This handsome clock is designed to look like an Atmos clock. It is an electric clock. The case is brass plated and glass. The plating does have some wear. Condition is very good and the clock works. Price $220.00 Shipping $16.00" http://www.smsnoveltiques.com/motionclocks.asp |
