I am looking for articles for a college research report on businesses and consolidation that reference companies in fragmented industries that have brought together technologies to create all-in-one "one stop shop" solutions. Some past examples of this are Bloomberg (consolidation of financial news), Ebay (consolidation of fragmented auction offerings), Google (consolidation of the internet as a whole). Particularly I need to find a quote that emphasizes the importance and benefits of consolidation in such fragmented industries. |

Typically some people benefit from a consolidation, and others are harmed. It is not unusual for small competitors to be unable to compete and prices to customers to rise sharply after the competitors are gone. Neil |
