Is there sofware or a website available where I can use individual stocks to create my own index. I need to be able to chart the index, 5 year/10 year, etc. and compare it to other well known indices. | |

I've never heard of commercially available software to do that. It's pretty easy to do in Excel if you have the historical price data handy (and if you're willing to make a few simplifications on how dividends are treated). Do you plan to make a price-weighted (DJIA), capitalization-weighted (S&P 500) or equal-weighted (Russell) index? |
