Dear job12345, Thank you for accepting my findings as your answer. I will repost the information below to make it official. Best wishes, Bobbie7 ======================================= NUMBER OF WINDSHIELDS THAT ARE REPLACED ======================================= ''You never know when that rock is coming," said Leo Cyr, vice president of the National Glass Association. In 2003, Massachusetts car owners replaced 326,000 windshields, representing 5.9 percent of the state's 5.5 million vehicles. Nationally, 11 million windshields are replaced annually.? The U.S. imported 1.8 million windshields from China valued at $52.4 million in 2000.? Inman, CEO of NOVUS Windshield Repair. More than three million car windshields were repaired in 1995, compared with 500,000 in 1990. Pick a number like 50 million and you will be correct by fine tuning the definition of damage. Perhaps ten million are in significant danger of a fine or warning reguarding the damage that their windshield has. Neil |

I was hoping insurance companies would produce some kind of statistic based on the number of windshields their fixing and replacing. It's possible the number I'm looking for can't be found at this time. The type of damage I was referring to could either be rock chips, stone damage, or cracks. It would seem like some entity out there would be interested in finding this out, but who knows? |

I suggest finding the manufacturer or supplier of windscreens and see if they have any statistics for you, remember most windscreen damage would not be from major accidents so even insurance companies would not have records on them. |
