Twenty mature pine trees were removed from the backyard. The basement now has water seepage. Please provide an answer detailing how the removal of the trees may have affected the seepage of water into the basement. i.e. flow of surface water and sub-surface water etc.The trees formed an arc starting at the corner of the attached garage and went into the side yard. The trees were not directly in front of the basement wall but were to the side. The removed trees were about 75 feet from where the basement is leaking. |

Before I got to the comment, that was just my thought, too, that the trees were holding down the local ground water lever. Maybe they were there before you moved in or even before the house was built, so you never had a chance to know if the basement really was dry or the seepage was small enough that it evaporated without being noticed. |
