Dear Red, If the mold has deeply penetrated into the cushion of the seats, I recommend replacement. The first thing to do, and I'm sure you have, is to stop the water problem. Mold will grow where there is oxygen, water, and a food source. Realistically, we can only control the water. If you are trying to eliminate the mold stains and musty odor. I suggest you use Zymo-Cat Mold & Mildew Stain Cleaner. (http://www.sorbtech.com/integrated/default.asp/Page=Catalog.asp/PageID=1261) It does not kill mold, however it eliminates the stain and odor. It is a non-hazardous, enzymatic cleaner and does not contain chlorine or ammonia. You can use it to shampoo the carpet and fabrics. I also recommend that you spray or fog it into the intake vent of the HVAC and allow it to recycle through the system. I highly recommend you try it. |
