Did young people in the past know more history than the current
generation of students? How would we know for sure?

Well, there was less history to know in the past.

In the past we learnt relatively more history than today; Noewadays,
we learn material that in the past they did not teach, e.g.computers;
so young people knew more history than the current generation. In
addition, today with globalisation and individualism, we are less
interested in our country history.
