I'm looking for solid ethnographies or cultural studies of the Saudis since, say, 1950. I am aware of a couple of very good books that discuss their culture indirectly: "The Arab Mind," and "The Closed Circle." But I'm not aware of any academically respectable ethnographical studies that specifically deal with Saudis (or Bedouins) that would pass muster in an anthropology department. |

How about Tetsuo Nishio's "Cultural Change in the Arab World"? http://www.tomfolio.com/bookdetailssu.asp?b=006780&m=63 http://s1.amazon.com/exec/varzea/ts/exchange-glance/Y02Y2503680Y8092229/002-8158429-7141629 |
