If the drive is operational then purchase a 2.5 USB drive enclosure. Insert the drive into the enclosure then connect the USB into your other system. You should be able to access the contents of the drive. |

From the Start Menu goto the Run Option. In the Box type: cmd at the command prompt choose the root drive letter for the drive you wish to search (i.e. C:\ D:\ E:\) by simply typing that letter followed by a : and \. For instance E:\ after choosing the drive, type: dir *.jpg /s this command will search all of the sub directories under the root drive if nothing is returned to you type dir /ah *.jpg /s This command will search the drive for all jpg files w/ a hidden attribute set. If, you do these commands you should see something. Good Luck. |

If the laptop drive is properly connected through an adapter-usb is best so as not too mess with master slave settings, the drive will show up in my computer when the PC boots up-but the drive will only be readable if the file system is compatible. If the drive was NTFS from a Win XP notebook, but your checking the drive on a windows 98 machine with fat32 it will not read it, if the desktop has win XP with NTFS, it will read NTFS and FAT32. We have a service which can recover the data if the drive is good using the same method I described if you dont want to do it yourself, you can contact us through http://J4Ti.com |

Thanks everybody for the help .None of them worked for me. I used a file recovery software and found everything in that hard drive. Hamlet |
