I want an open water dive course for a 10 year old, either 4 days or 5
days, in Cairns.

Hi I did my open water there with an outfit called Cairns Dive Centre(
CDC ) they were prity cool and had there own boat out on the reef that
was very cool. I have to tell you that 10 is the youngest that Padi
will teach then only if accompanyed by a parent and it also means that
they have to reduce their ratios student to staff, so you should be
aware of that . I know a friend of a friend who emergrated  and last I
heard worked in the deep sea divers den , which Ive also heard are
quite good.
Consider getting the theroy and pool work done before you go , that
way you can spend more time divig when your there and you can assess
the maturity /suitability  of you little one before you spend 3 - 4
days out of your hols to find out he /she doesnt like it.( go to
Padi.com to find a local instructor /centre ) hope that this is of

Hello... you can actually enquiry regarding Bubble Makers is the name
of the diving program for kids with PADI, when they are 12 they do
PADI SEAL Team, but OPEN WATER as itself you don't do it until they
are older.

In the Bubble Makers, they don't go to the sea. Only in confined area.

years old, no problem there.
