Why can't I use my Outlook Express addresses from within Word? In
other words, when I go to Word...Tools...Letters &
Mailings...Envelopes & Labels, it always tries to use the Outlook
address book and/or the contacts within Outlook. Well, I use Outlook
Express. Why can't I use my OE contacts when I click the phonebook? I
do not want to export the contacts to Outlook. Is there a work-around
for this??? I've tried messing with new profiles, but these pertain to
Outlook. I can't believe that I can't use all my OE contacts as my
"phonebook contacts" when I am in Word (it's Office XP [2002] by the
way).

No, not really. I've tried that.
The phonebook in Word relates to "addresses" usually within Outlook,
but I have none listed in Outlook. I simply use Outlook Express and
have all names, emails, addresses, etc listed under my "contacts". I
don't know if this has something to do with it or not.

I messed around a bit, and found a very half-a**ed solution.
It still does not work as I'd like it to, but it may not be possible to work
as I'd like. When you click that phonebook in Word, what I'd like to
have happen (!!) is my OE contacts opens I pick who I want to mail the
envelope to and be done!!!!
The work-around requires that Outlook be the "default mail client" -
which I hate. I know it has to have something with a relationship
between the different file types, etc... WAB, PST blah blah
blah.........
Any other thoughts/suggestions sure would be helpful/appreciated.
Thanks
