I got a site which sells an imitation (a close one)of what you want. Will this do?

I have an email into the costume designer for the movie. I will be
awaiting her response, and give you an answer, or try and track down
more information from there.

Hi, I just got an email back from Leeza Evans, the costume/Wardrobe
for the Scooby Dooo movie...she said, and I quote....
"all of the clothing in the movie was designed by me, including the
fabrics.
sorry i don't think i would be able to help you find something
similar???
good luck.
with regards,
Leesa Evans "

So, an exact copy is not possible. Would finding you something very
similar do?

Hi Luis,

Just a quick technical point -- remember that the colors used to print
posters may not reflect the *actual* color of the pants that you are
looking for.

For what it's worth, here's a photo of Prinze (far left) in what I
presume are the pants in question:

The color looks like a "cerulean blue" to me, but photos, whether on
posters or on Web sites, seldom reproduce colors with great precision.

It is exceptionally likely that the clothing was specially tailored
for FP jr.
What you might want to do is get in touch with a local Seamstress or
Tailor.

Anyway, that's what I did when I wanted an exact copy of Captain
Stanley Tweedle's uniform from the TV Series "Lexx."

As a footnote to knowledge_seeker's comment, the color balance of
electronic strobe lights typically used to light stills (like the Gang
in front of the van) do not exactly match that of the flood lights
used to shoot movies.

Add in other factors like:

- colors filmed in sunshine look different indoors
- the film's colors may have been digitally enhanced
- the age of the bulb in the projector (if you see the movie)

and it's going to be very difficult to get an *exact* color match.
Where do you start?

You'd probably be best off contacting Leesa Evans, the costume
designer for the film. I'm afraid I don't have time to do the
research now, but if I did, I'd find out which union she belongs to,
contact their agency department to find out who represents her, and
contact her agent to find out how I might get the question to her. (In
case the suggestion raises any provacy concerns, rest assured, that's
the appropriate way to contact Hollywood types, I do it all the time.)

Good luck!

All these color balance comments notwithstanding, why would you WANT
Fred's clothes anyway, when Shaggy is clearly is clearly the hippest,
coolest and best dressed dude in the movie.

Hey Luis,

Here's a great place for you to start: Leesa Evans, as
mentioned earlier was the costume designer in the film. I found
several articles where she talked about finding Fred's clothes & even
how she made them 2 different shades, one for day and one for night..
but none that detailed exactly where she got them from (after all,
that would ruin the movie "excitement"). But, I did find her contact
information, complete with her phone #, address, and e-mail address.
Now you can contact her and ask her yourself (or let me know if you
would like me to do it for you!)

wardrobe designers on movies spend a great percentage of their time
scouring thrift/vintage shops for clothes for actors. its very
likely the item is a 25+ year old pair of bell bottoms from some off
brand long 'dead'.

Another 'for what it's worth' comment...

There are bound to have been duplicates of his costume, in case
something spilled/tore (and for his stunt double.) In a film where
the leads' clothing is so much a part of the look, the costume
department would have at least one backup of everything, even (or
especially) if it was a replica of a one-of-a-kind thrift shop piece.

The costume designer will hopefully be willing to tell you either
where the pants came from, or how they created a dupliacte. Also,
there are several stores in LA whose business is reselling slothes
from film & tv. It's worth asking if clothes from the film were sent
to any of them.

Good luck!
