I'm not clear whether you are asking your question in the context of
which Uni has a greater percentage of students living on-campus, or
whether a Uni has a greater proportion of available student
accommodation (e.g. halls of residence, share houses, etc) so that
students *don't* have to live with the parents unless they really,
really want to (yeah right!).
So, with that in mind, Melbourne University (in Parkville) has 13
halls of residence and a long standing culture of student independence
with many students (not just the international students) making the
move into the big bad city and renting houses/flats in nearby suburbs
of Carlton, Parkville, Flemington, North Melbourne, Thornbury,
Brunswick, etc. The various halls of residence are pretty stunning
too. Melbourne Uni is also one of the (if not *the*) top universities
in Oz.
It's not your answer but I hope it adds some extra info into the mix.
