Hello. Recently I purchased a wireless network card for use on my home
PC. This card allows me to use my neighbor/friends wireless network
for the purposes of having high speed internet in my home off of his
signal. Yesterday when I tried to logon as I always do and it says
that I have a strong signal but little to no connectivity. It also
shows that I am connected but have been blocked from the network due
to some sort of WEP code I presume. However, a friend that I have
visiting me brought her laptop over which also has a wireless card and
she can access his network perfectly fine. Is there a way for me to
reconnect to the network? Maybe changing my IP address or ISP
parameters, etc... Thanks

Are you able to access other wireless networks? If not, your wireless
card/operating system has a problem. Otherwise, your MAC (Media
Access Control) address (an address hard-coded into your wireless card
which cannot be changed without a huge effort) may have been blocked
from the network in question. In either case, a new network card would
solve your problems (find one as cheap as possible on ebay, there is
very little difference between brands and if you get good signal in
your house, there is no reason to pay for an expensive brand). As far
as avoiding this happening again, you may consider logging on to the
wireless router in question, finding the dhcp clients list, and
imitating the name of one of the computers on the list so you arent
detected as quickly. Hope this helps
