If the monitor is the traditional CRT type, as opposed to an LCD
monitor, it will cost a fortune to ship due to its great weight. There
is also a good chance that it will sustain damage during transit,
especially if you no longer have the original box. Frankly, your best
bet is to buy a new LCD monitor in Zurich.
The CPU case would cost several hundred dollars to ship, so again, I
would just buy a replacement. If I were in your place, I would call up
a friend of mine who's handy with a screwdriver and ask him to remove
the motherboard and hard drive from the computer, then mail them by
courier in a padded envelope. The hard drive should ideally be backed
up first. These items are relatively small, light, and expensive, as
opposed to the rest of your computer hardware. Then I would buy a
case, optical drive, and peripherals in Zurich. This would in all
likelihood be substantially cheaper than shipping the whole computer
over.
If you agree that this is the right way to go about it, I will provide
further details below.
