I want to develop a site for a TV show that will enable the cast of
the show to collaborate with the shows audience in the writing of a
theme song for the show. I want to know of any early examples of site
that have allowed song writers to collaborate with the public in the
writing of a song

Billcatalyst,

I found three examples that are similar to your idea. Please let me
know if my findings are on the right track and answer your question,
or if you?re looking for something different.

Group 'Songwriters and Poets For Song Collaboration'
?The purpose of this group is for songwriters and poets to collaborate
to create songs. You can start with a more or less finished song, or
start with nothing in mind. It is sharing the creative juices. Most
of the time it is fun and productive. You do not have to be musical
to co-write. Others can compose melodies.?

Bobby7 thanks for these they are interesting but not what i am looking
for. What i am looking for is examples of say a well known band that
have used the web to seek "input" from their fans, equally this might
have been organised by a radio station.
What iu am aiming to do my self is to use the online collaboration as
a publicty exercise rather than out of a real genuine desire for
collaboration.

Sorry for the misunderstanding! I'll do some more research and
hopefully I'll find relevant material for you. In any case, your
question remains open and other researchers can try to answer it.
